Hii-Finance Corporation President Co-Chairs Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala
VIENNA, VA – As part of her ongoing commitment to the arts, Mrs. Samia Farouki, President of Hii-Finance Corporation, (www.hii-finance.com) co-chaired the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala which was hosted by the Shakespeare Theatre Company (www.shakespearetheatre.org/harmancenter). Held October 27, 2008 at the Sidney Harman Hall and National Building Museum, the evening included a series of performances based on different interpretations of Romeo and Juliet and "A Night in Verona" themed dinner and dancing.
The Gala benefits the Shakespeare Theatre Company Free For All – two weeks of free Shakespeare presented by the Company – as well as other artistic programs. Along with her husband, prominent international business leader Mr. A. Huda Farouki, Mrs. Farouki focuses her creative energy on serving the aims of cultural institutions. To this end, she worked with co-chair Beth Dozoretz to celebrate the evening’s honorees of the William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre, Rennie Harris, Peter Martins and Chita Rivera. The Will Award is an annual honor given by the Shakespeare Theatre Company to a person (or persons) who has made a significant contribution to classical theatre in America.
